When learning a new sign, we offer you the mirror feature. It is supposed to give you visual feedback about how your signing looks to other people.
Solving the issue
If the mirror feature does not work, you may have to give the app or website permission to access your camera first. This is usually done in the settings for your browser or phone.
iPhone (iOS)
For iPhone (iOS), this is done like this: Go into your iPhone's settings and then scroll to "Lingvano". There, you should see a toggle switch that says "Camera". Turn it on, restart the app and then the mirror should work!
Android (phone or tablet)
For Android phones or tablets, the camera permissions can be set as follows:
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps.
- Look for "Lingvano" and tap it.
- Tap Permissions.
- Tap Camera and then choose "Allow".
Now, close and re-start the Lingvano app and the mirroring camera should work!
Desktop computer
For desktop computers, you may want to check the following:
- Go to the settings of your browser and allow it to access your camera. This setting can usually be found under "privacy", "security" or "camera".
- If you've got an external camera, make sure it is plugged and and connected.
Reporting an error
In case it still does not work, please report the error by going to the menu (top left corner) on the page the mirror is not working. In the menu, you click "Report problem" and then go through the steps. This notifies our technicians who will take care of the issue.
